Is it possible for a woman to start experiencing symptoms of menopause at 34?

I will be 35 in Aug. For the last year for a week before, and then during my period, I get the worst hot flashes and then that makes me freeze my off. I am also impossible to get along with. I've looked stuff up but it's all so clinical. I'm wondering if someone has gone through this? I know, I know, I should go to a doctor but like most Americans I have no health insurance and can not afford to pay for the Dr.
